deliver the effectiveness of arctic creatures directly to your skin

In April last year, LG H&H signed an MOU with the Arctic Research Center under the Korea Ocean Research & Development Institute for developing new materials for cosmetics, and paid attention to Ramalin, an arctic substance, while carrying out research on arctic creatures in earnest. Ramalina is a genus of lichens, which sprouts and lives in sterile environments of 2,500m in altitude and the temperature of -100℃. It has a tenacious hold on life and is known to generate strong antioxidants that can remove oxides because it lives on rocks in coastal areas directly receiving strong UV rays. However, Ramalin, derived from this Ramalina, is easily destroyed by temperature, humidity, light and oxygen when it is made into cosmetics, and thus it has been only a dream substance for cosmetics so far.

To use such Ramalin in the form of icemetics*, LG H&H has aggressively invested, for the last two years, in establishing low-temperature custom systems required for the entire process ranging from production to distribution, including separate clean room facilities to prevent contamination and cool packing shipping. As a result, it developed the world’s first cool storage cosmetics, FROSTINE, with zero harmful substances and preservatives, which materialize the strong antioxidative arctic substance.

In addition, FROSTINE excludes any preservatives or substances developed for antiseptic purposes, and even in its manufacturing process, no substance for preservation is added, maintaining zero harmful substances (thoroughly excluding preservatives and preservative equivalents, artificial flavors, coloring, harmful substance to skin, heavy metal, etc.), and the product has been verified to be a cosmetic with zero preservatives by receiving preservative tests, heavy metal tests, skin tests, and so forth.

*Icemetics?

Icemetics is a compound word of Ice and Cosmetic,
which is a new category for cool storage cosmetics. It exerts its best effect at low temperature and does not use any preservative or material harmful to skin. It is a low-temperature, high efficacy cosmetic product that stabilizes ingredients with unprecedented effects under cool storage conditions and technologies and delivers their efficacy to the user’s skin.

Brand New 100% Water-soluble
Sheet-type Detergent

Our ‘Tech OK Soluble Sheet’ offers an easy solution that addresses inconveniences of power detergents (power flow and residues) and liquid detergents (heavy weight and difficulty in measurement). Specifically, these detergent sheets prevent the spill of detergents around the detergent slot and help maintain a tidy laundry room while their smaller size makes it easier for housewives to purchase and use them.

While detergent sheets are inherently fragile and relatively low-performing, our sustained R&D efforts allowed us to develop sheets that do not come apart easily and are highly water-soluble while delivering outstanding performance.

Ink Lasting Foundation Slim Fit EX of THEFACESHOP

Unlike household goods, products with deep-tube-pump containers such as lotion, essence and foundation allow consumers to hold and tilt the container to pump because such products are generally used in small portions. When consumers tilt the container and try to pump out the liquid with a deep-tube-pump head in a non-fixed structure, the end of the deep-tube inside the container tends not to reach the liquid, making it difficult to use the product or degrades the recyclability of the container due to excessive residues. LG H&H developed an eco-friendly pump designed by applying the same-direction structure for the tube mounting part of the pump engine and the button outlet. We patented and commercialized it as a product, and received the Excellence Prize at the Eighth Green Packaging Contest.

Belif Youth Creator -
Age Knockdown V Cream

Keeping up with the needs of global consumers who prefer a nonsticky, smooth texture, we developed 'Belif Youth Creator - Age Knockdown V Cream' for consumers of all ages all around the world regardless of seasonal factors. We created a soft and nourishing cream texture by applying our sugar emulsifying system. Thanks to the patented IPA(Ion Paired Amino acid) technology, the product forms a skin moisture barrier and provides a silky texture. With decoction herb ingredients, this new-concept anti-aging product also helps you keep your defined V-line chin, focusing on your skin’s oxygen and elasticity that are reduced due to aging.

Elastine Propolithera

'Elastine Propolithera' is a damage care line with improved anti-aging functions. The product lineup consisting of shampoos, conditioners, treatments and essence items sufficiently nourishes your hair with propolis extracted from Australian honeycombs. By using LG H&H’s patented technology that puts nourishing contents into hair, we proved this premium damage care product’s effect of addressing major hair aging problems, such as rough texture, split ends, and tensile strength. About 96%, 94% and 94% of the users were satisfied* with the product for texture improvement, nourishing effect, and moisturizing effect, respectively. * Based on products for damaged hair

Dr. Foot Shampoo

'Dr. Foot Shampoo' is a foot care product, with which you can easily wash your feet simply by spraying bubbles and rubbing your feet. The product contains charcoal that is effective in removing accumulated body waste, spa ingredients from all around the world such as Israeli Dead Sea salt and Belgian hot spring water, and over 50 plant-derived ingredients. It passed the test on the human body, proving its antibacterial and ultrafine dust cleaning effects as well as its functions of moisturizing and eliminating the old dead skin cells on the heels. The product’s fresh lemon scent and patented body-odor-masking fragrance get rid of unpleasant foot odors.

Su:m37° Water-full Enriched Ampoule

Small-capacity cosmetic containers have the benefit of applicable anywhere because they are easy to carry, but the disadvantage that it is difficult to pump a consistent amount of the content. LG H&H has developed a new type of ampoule container with its supplier, Jinhan, and filed a joint patent application for technology that pumps a consistent amount from smallcapacity containers and prevents leakage. LG H&H applied this container to the Su:m37° Water-full Enriched Ampoule container and launched it in April 2020, with plans to continue suppor ting produc tization through joint development with its suppliers in the future.

Joint development of 'residual quantity prevention metal-free pump'

In 2021, LG H&H jointly developed a 'button spring integrated metal-free pump with residual quantity prevention function' with Yeonhee Chemical as part of supporting supplier to strengthen their capabilities. To improve product recyclability, ease of use, and minimize residual quantity, we devised the idea of integrating the spring and button, and applying the dip tube rotary pump after discussing with the design center. To enhance the product's completeness, we specified each part's assembly and developed the design in advance. To verify the quality of the pump function, we made a test mold and reviewed the optimal spring specifications and materials. Metal-free pumps are suitable to discharge separately, unlike metal-containing pumps, which have been difficult to separate and discharge. In terms of recycling grade, transparent PET containers and metal-mixed pumps have improved from 'difficult' to 'normal‘ for recycling, and other materials have been improved from 'normal‘ to 'excellent' in the recycling grade. Another advantage is that the remaining amount can be minimized as the dip tube is always dipped into the contents. In the future, we plan to further innovate our products by reducing the cost of materials and adjusting the pumping pressure. We have applied for intellectual property rights(20-2021-0002231) for the developed 'metal-free pump structure for preventing residual capacity.'
