LG Household & Health Care (LG H&H) Ltd. (CEO: Suk Cha) began its official business on the morning of January 3, 2011, with an opening ceremony held at the auditorium in the LG building in Gwanghwamun.

In his New Year Greetings at the opening ceremony, CEO Suk Cha stressed that as LG H&H swiftly responds to rapidly changing market conditions, recognizes consumer trends and then takes the lead in shaping the market paradigm, it should focus its potential on becoming the leader in three major business sectors: household goods, cosmetics, and beverages.

He requested that the company not be satisfied with simple improvements leading to increases in consumer value, but rather that it develop invention, an innovative approach to what consumers ultimately want, and thereby transform the entire landscape of the market.

The greetings were notable for starting with a poem “Day-Shine” by Chong Hyong-Jong.

LG H&H explained that the poem expressed the speaker’s core message: no matter what obstacles befall us, a future we can choose and create is always open to us; without resigning ourselves to fate, let’s go forward with a brand new attitude.
